This is the day is celebrated to bring attention to nonprofit organizations that do good work in the community every day, from helping children to read to solving problems of global warming. Give thanks to local nonprofit volunteers either in person, by email, or by text, and let them know you appreciate them. Another way to help your favorite local nonprofit is by spreading the word about what they do, volunteering, or making a donation.
