Cultural Resource Management Plans

A cultural or heritage Resource Management Plan documents the planning process, serves as a baseline for evaluation, provides a road map for the future, and is a useful education and marketing tool.  The ForeSite team will work closely with your community or heritage area to develop and implement a Cultural Heritage Management Plan, including conducting a cultural heritage tourism assessment.

A successful heritage area Resource Management Plan is a guide for decision making, formalizes partnerships, and fulfills requirements in authorizing legislation.  The plan specifies actions, policies, strategies, performance goals and presents recommendations.   Key components of a Management Plan include:

  • Resource Inventory
  • Interpretive Themes
  • Goals, Strategies, and Actions
  • Partner Roles
  • Implementation Plan
  • Interpretive Plan
  • Business Plan
  • Performance Goals and Benchmarks
